Our Team at The Oaks
All members of our team are central to providing an enjoyable, safe and caring environment for all our residents and as such the recruitment, training and development of the team is paramount. Our staff provide 24/7 care with a minimum of 2 staff on duty at any time.
The Team is led by Sally Mealing – The Oaks’ Registered Manager – who holds her Registered Manager’s Award and is in turn registered by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales and Care Council Wales. Sally has tremendous experience in providing care for the elderly and is supported by her senior team – Cher, Jackie, Lisa and Linda – and a full and dedicated team of carers, cooks, domestic support and maintenance, all of whom strive to provide the best support and environment we can for our residents.
All staff in our care team are the main point of contact day to day for all our residents. Each member of staff has been chosen based on their abilities to work with our residents in a supportive and sympathetic manner. Prior to joining, all our staff are vetted through the Disclosure and Barring Service and a stringent reference process. Once each member is part of the team, the work starts to provide the level of training to support them in their work as an effective carer.
Outside our care team we have both housekeeping and maintenance who work tirelessly to keep the home (and our residents!) looking good. Whilst we encourage as much independence amongst our residents as possible, our staff are always on hand to assist with all personal duties if required.
